Grimes Farm (May 02, 2026)

The Grimes Farm is a perfect example of a diverse natural landscape - a hike on one of their many established trails will take you through restored grasslands, upland and bottomland forests, and around small wetlands. It’s no surprise that more than 100 bird species visit this area each year! Join us and Marshall County Conservation for a morning of exploration at the Grimes Farm during the heart of spring migration. We hope to see some migratory warblers, a Baltimore Oriole, and perhaps a Rose-breasted Grosbeak. No experience necessary - just come and enjoy a spring day with us!

This field trip is free to attend and open to any young birders and their parents/guardians. Advance registration is required. Iowa Young Birders welcomes everyone to the outdoors regardless of age, race, ethnicity, gender, orientation, religion, creed, national origin, or disability status. Our events can accommodate wheelchairs, vision and hearing impairments, and other health conditions. For questions, or to request accommodations for an upcoming event, please send us a message or email.
