We’re excited to partner with Jones County Conservation and Monticello Parks and Recreation on a bird-watching field trip to Central Park! June is a great time to observe Purple Martins at their nesting colony in the park, as well as many other nesting birds that call Iowa home in summer. No experience or equipment is required, just a desire to spend a morning outside and have some fun!
This field trip is free to attend and open to any young birders and their parents/guardians. Advanced registration is required. Iowa Young Birders welcomes everyone to the outdoors regardless of age, race, ethnicity, gender, orientation, religion, creed, national origin, or disability status. Our events can accommodate wheelchairs, vision and hearing impairments, and other health conditions. For questions, or to request accommodations for an upcoming event, please send us a message or email.
