We're excited to join Boone County Conservation for a morning exploring Swede Point Park! Swede Point Park contains a variety of habitat types including prairies, streams, and oak-hickory woodlands - all perfect for hosting several of Iowa's nesting birds including Red-headed Woodpecker (pictured), Eastern Bluebird, and Baltimore Oriole. We'll search for these species and other nesting birds and learn a bit about different types of bird nests.

This field trip is free to attend and open to any young birders and their parents/guardians. Advance registration is required. Iowa Young Birders welcomes everyone to the outdoors regardless of age, race, ethnicity, gender, orientation, religion, creed, national origin, or disability status. Our events can accommodate wheelchairs, vision and hearing impairments, and other health conditions. For questions, or to request accommodations for an upcoming event, please send us a message or email.
