Each November, tens of thousands of Tundra Swans descend from gray skies to loaf on Pool 9 of the Mississippi River as part of their migratory journey to wintering areas. Join us as we travel back to northeast Iowa to witness this amazing Iowa birding spectacle! Joining the Tundra Swans will be a variety of other migratory waterfowl including frequent Mississippi River visitors such as Canvasback, Redhead, and Lesser Scaup as well as several species of dabbling ducks like Mallard, Gadwall, and American Wigeon. We may even get lucky with a glimpse at a soaring Golden Eagle! This trip is free but advanced registration is required. Binoculars and a spotting scope will be provided
