An Iowa native, Carl is past president and records committee chair of the Iowa Ornithologists’ Union and current member of the board of directors of the American Birding Association. He moved back to Iowa in 2012 after a 22 year career in nonprofit fundraising and management. Carl and his wife, Linda (director of admissions at Scattergood School) live near Solon at Wild Finch Farm.
