Young Birders

Birds are amazing!  Whether you are noticing the birds in your backyard and would like to learn more about them or you’ve already gotten binoculars, a book and are keeping a list of what you’ve identified, the Iowa Young Birders is a place to learn more and to connect with other teens who are into birds and birding.

Check out our links and resources for young birders for some of the great information available to help you get started or to take your birding skills to the next level.

Sign up for one of our Field Trips which take place all around the state.  Our field trips are free to attend; all you need is to sign up in advance and have your parents send in a permission form.

We hope you’ll join other young birders from around Iowa and become a member of Iowa Young Birders.  It’s easy and only $10 per year.

Connect with your friends and make new birding friends by liking us on Facebook.  In the future, we’ll be adding ways to connect safely with your friends through our website by sharing photos, artwork, writing, and your own exciting discoveries.

Finally, let us hear from you with your questions and ideas.

Have fun and GOOD BIRDING!
