Wetlands are one nature's most busy habitat types in Iowa in the spring! Plants are emerging, frogs are calling, and birds are arriving from their migratory journeys north. Join us and Winneshiek County Conservation Board for a morning exploring one of the premier wetlands in northeastern Iowa - Cardinal Marsh! We will hope to see migrating waterfowl and other waterbirds, and perhaps some early migrant songbirds. Hopefully we'll see some other critters too!

Iowa Young Birders welcomes everyone to the outdoors regardless of age, race, ethnicity, gender, orientation, religion, creed, national origin, or disability status. Our events can accommodate wheelchairs, vision and hearing impairments, and other health conditions. For questions, or to request accommodations for an upcoming event, please send us a message or email. As an IAYB event, this field trip is open to young birders and their parents/guardians/caretakers.

Did you know that nearly 700 million migrating birds pass over Iowa each spring? After spending their winters in warmer areas far to the south, birds stop in Iowa on their journeys back to northern nesting areas in the spring. Join us at Brown's Woods in Des Moines to see some of these visitors! We hope to see some early migrating warblers, thrushes, vireos, and flycatchers. A spring morning in the woods is always fun!

With its mature forest perched atop bluffs overlooking the Mississippi River, Eagle Point Park in Clinton is a magnet for migrating songbirds in spring. Join us for a morning exploring this birding hotspot as part of the Spring Iowa Ornithologists' Union meeting. We will look for migrating warblers and other songbirds. If you're interested, pack a lunch and stick around for the Iowa Ornithologists' Union programs after our field trip. We hope you can join us!
