Bird handling and banding experience

Ever wonder what it feels like to hold a songbird in your hands?  On this unique field trip we will be joining Dr. Stephen Dinsmore, Ornithologist from Iowa State University, on a morning of mist netting and bird banding at his home near Ames.  Young birders will experience first hand how to properly capture and band birds for scientific study.  We hope you can join us for this special event!  This trip is free but advanced registration is required.
